The general case, not just today
Is Harder Kulm worth it in cloudy or bad weather?
Consider it for a shorter excursion when the view looks promising, rather than as a full-day bad-weather substitute. Persistent fog still defeats the viewing platform.
The funicular ride from the valley station is short, making Harder Kulm easier to fit around a changeable day than a distant summit. That is not a door-to-door journey estimate: allow for reaching the station, waiting and the return. Its seasonal timetable is a separate constraint.
Seeing the top from Interlaken is a useful clue, not proof that the distant panorama is clear or will stay clear. A shallow fog layer can sit below the platform, or cloud can obscure it. The restaurant offers shelter when open, but is not a substitute for both lake views.
